Mass Initiation Meme Rite (Democratic Noms Edition), 2019 social sculpture gesture (as documented in The Hill and The Independent, and mentioned in the New York Times and the Washington Post)
In 2019 I mobilized a group of occultists, assembled from an online sphere originally started as a joke page to make memes mocking 2020 US democratic primary candidate Marianne Williamson. Marianne Williamson was an early field candidate who met the threshhold for the first round of Democratic debates. She espoused the dangers of dark psychic forces on the debate stage, becoming known ironically as the orb queen in the online sphere (a reference to the crystal ball emoji). The occultists pulled from the group to perform the ritual carried out individual gestures in conjunction with myself, to conjure increased airtime for Williamson. The aim of this was to proliferate the occult zeitgeist by bringing the discussion of esoteric forces which Williamson tended towards espousing, to the presidential stage for the first time in US elections history. The occult working ended up inadvertently being reported on in major international news outlets The Hill and The Independent and mentioned in the Washington Post and The New York Times after a reporter found my call out post in search of occultists on the page and interviewed me about it. This incidental documentation in the form of these reports in the news are the only tangible fragments that remain of the working.
